Square Recipes vs GriddleMath
Square already has recipe costing. Why use GriddleMath?
Square Recipes reports ingredient costs and item margins. GriddleMath focuses on a truck's booking closeout: combine sales with recorded prepped, sold, comped and wasted portions to see food-cost margin for each service. Choose based on whether you need that closeout workflow.
Do I need Square Plus or Premium?
GriddleMath does not require a paid Square tier. Square's US support article currently limits Square Recipes beta to Square for Restaurants Plus or Premium subscribers. GriddleMath is $0/month during our early stage; Square processing fees still apply and GriddleMath paid plans are planned.
What are Square Recipes' stated limits?
Square's support article says the beta supports one-level recipes, but not batch prep or sub-recipes, modifier recipes, or recipes on items with multiple variations. These beta limitations may change; check the linked support article for current availability.
Does GriddleMath cost modifiers and multiple sizes automatically?
Automatic modifier costing and automatic costing of Square size variations are not yet supported end to end. You can cost each size as a separate GriddleMath menu item with its own recipe and enter its sold quantities manually.
